I wanted to get your perspective on natural hair on black women. Are white men attracted to that too?
As with anything, it depends on the white man in question. Some white men say that they have no preference, and some white men say they prefer a black woman with natural hair because they view it as exotic (as in different from what they have and what they are used to) and thus are fascinated by the way it looks, feels and the versatility with which you can style it.
Black women with natural hair say that they got a lot of positive attention from white men once they went natural – far more than from black men, who they say start to ignore them or groan and make negative remarks about the change. There are more than enough white men who prefer natural hair. If you take a look around YouTube, the vast majority of black women who have natural hair have white spouses or white boyfriends. I posted a handful below to help you get started. I have known of only one white man who dates black women and says he isn’t into natural hair. He preferred a black woman to have either very short hair (like the woman in the picture at right) or straightened.
You should do with your hair what looks best on you as an individual, is most cost-effective, convenient to creating the styles you want and having the least damage and maximum growth potential possible. Whatever you do, just have your hair well-groomed, and you will be able to find a man who likes you as you are.
Though some black women have the misconception that they need to put a lot of time and money into their hair, being fit, dressing in a style that suits you and making the most of your appearance ultimately counts more for physically attracting most men. If you’ve been to some European countries, you will see many black women who are married to white men and, in most cases, do not have their hair well done, but are feminine and physically fit.
